01 · IDENTIFY & PROTECT

Rescue & intake

Local shelter partners help identify animals at risk. Intake decisions are based on foster space, available funding, and the needs of animals already committed to care.

Includes: shelter coordination, initial evaluation, vaccination planning, medical assessment, and safe placement into foster care.

02 · STABILIZE & PREPARE

Foster-based care

Temporary homes provide decompression, individualized attention, socialization, and a clearer picture of each animal’s health and behavior.

Rising Sun provides: approved veterinary care, food, supplies, equipment, guidance, and ongoing support.

03 · MOVE & CONNECT

Safe transport

Stabilized animals travel through carefully planned routes to trusted rescue partners with stronger adoption opportunities.

Every trip includes: confirmed receiving placement, coordinated schedules, secure travel, documented care, and safe handoffs.

Care comes first

Preparation protects every placement.

Before an animal travels, they may need time to decompress, medical treatment, vaccinations, behavior observation, or the stability of a foster home.

Responsible intake matters. We work within foster and financial capacity so every committed animal receives appropriate care, not just a ride out of the shelter.

Every successful placement is a team effort.
