Board of Directors

Leadership rooted in service.

Our volunteer board combines hands-on rescue experience, local knowledge, transport coordination, and a shared belief that shelter animals deserve safety and opportunity.

Four leaders · one shared commitment
Haley Huggins with her dog
President

Haley Huggins

Haley has spent more than 20 years working and volunteering with animals. A lifelong advocate for shelter animals, she believes every animal deserves safety, opportunity, and a genuine second chance.

Born and raised in Shreveport, Haley focuses on rescue, transport, and collaboration. Away from rescue work, she enjoys camping, hiking, and kayaking with Rebel, the dog she adopted after rescuing his pregnant mother.

Jennifer Landry with a rescued dog
Vice President

Jennifer Landry

Jennifer is a passionate rescue advocate based in Arkansas. After seeing the need in Shreveport-area shelters, she began coordinating transports and has helped hundreds of dogs reach trusted out-of-state rescue partners.

She has adopted two dogs from Caddo Parish Animal Services, including Teddy, a medical foster with a broken leg who became a permanent member of her family.

Stacy Gray with her dog
Secretary

Stacy Gray

Stacy has been rescuing animals since she was a teenager. Her experience working inside a local shelter gave her a close view of the overpopulation and placement crisis.

After 13 years in Shreveport, she remains focused on supporting local shelters and expanding safe placement options. Her dog Ace was adopted from Caddo Parish Animal Services in 2021.

Brian Watkins with a dog
Treasurer

Brian Watkins

Born in Washington, D.C., Brian began rescuing and fostering animals at a young age. During 20 years of military service, including 15 combat deployments, he assisted animals living in war-torn conditions.

Brian continued his commitment to animal welfare after entering the mortgage industry and joined the board after witnessing severe dog neglect in Northwest Louisiana.

Help turn leadership into lifesaving action.

Fostering, volunteering, and donating each create room for another animal to be saved.
